Booz Allen Hamilton
Mike is a Market Lead for Booz Allen Hamilton business development within the Operations and the Policy and Planning components of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the homeland security related components of the Department of Transportation and Department of Defense. He is also a Member of Booz Allen Hamilton’s Pandemic Influenza Steering Committee, whose Members are involved in client support across the spectrum of government, non-government, and commercial activities in this critical endeavor. These efforts involve working as a trusted advisor, with a special focus on DHS leaders to match Firm capabilities to meet critical needs within all the affected entities. Mike was the Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense, Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, OUSD (AT&L), at the Pentagon, where he was responsible for technology transfers of advantage to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) from the Russian and Ukrainian Ministries of Defense. He was awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service for his work at the Pentagon. He has written articles on utilizing aerospace technology for homeland security, most recently for Aerospace America, and has spoken on funding homeland security. Mike is a graduate of the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University and holds an MBA degree from Pepperdine University. He is pursuing Ph.D. studies at Virginia Tech’s National Capital Region Campus in the Science and Technology Studies Track; his Ph.D. thesis is on surveillance technology. He is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and is Chairman of its Homeland Security Public Policy Sub-Committee. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, Loudoun County, Virginia, and is also a Member of its Disaster Action Team.
