Mary Jean Merideth Bush
Affectionately known as “Mama Jean”
Born on January 14, 1931 in Humphreys County Tennessee. She lived in the original Johsonville Tennessee as a child.
Died on September 19, 2012 at the Humphreys County Nursing Home
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, September 21 and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, September 22 at the Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Service is at 11:00 a.m at the Humphreys County Funeral Home with internment following at the Marable Cemetary in Waverly. Jeff Keel and Jim Yates will officiate at the funeral.
Husband of 62 years, Euell Dean Bush.
Children: Deana Bush Dodds (Ed) Nashville TN, Douglas Merideth Bush (Alice) Indianapolis, IN, Alan Keith Bush (Randa) Evansville IN
Grandchildren: Stephen Bush (Kelly), Merideth Bush, William Bush, Kalyn Bush, Michael Bush
Preceded in death by Father and Mother, Mason Bates Merideth and Jeanette Napier (Smith) Merideth of Waverly TN.
Mrs. Bush was a Graduate of Waverly High School and Draughn’s Business College in Nashville TN.
She and her mother owned and managed Jeanette’s Style Shop of Waverly . She was also the Office Manager for the family operated business, Waverly Cable Television Corporation.
She was a member of the Lion’s Aid Club, Humphreys County Historical Society, Waverly Women’s Club and the Home Demonstration Club. An avid historian, Mrs. Bush was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Humphreys County Museum.
She was a faithful member of the Waverly Church of Christ.
The family wishes to acknowledge with deepest gratitude the care given by the staff at the Humphreys County Nursing Home, Care-All and Hospice, and the loving care of home based caregivers: Brenda Davidson, Angie Gantlett, JoAnn Starbuck, Virginia Jones, Sharon Palk, Linda Hughes, LeaDena Foucha, and the late Patsy Ladd and the late Wilene Stewart.
