I was Big Data before Big Data was Cool…

One of the challenges organizational big data faces [which we learn from the extensible business reporting language (XBRL, the SEC’s “interactive data”)] is that plenty of crooks plan to “bolt on transparency” at the tail end of the value chain reporting process. Embedding semantic richness within the business transaction backbone is an indicator of those firms which “get it” — and the refusal to add it ought to be an indicator to public investors (individual, or institutional).
